Day +18
Sunday, October 27: Woke up needing platelets but no fever throughout the night. Platelets: 2 Hemo: 8.1 WBC: .23. During the process of eliminating fluid from bladder, noticed a small lump. Brought it to the doctor’s attention and it was palpable and required further evaluation. Was extremely fatigued all day, somewhat like the days shortly after transplant. Was so worn out, possibly overdid it the day before and learned that baby steps are the way to go and not to push to the extreme (hmmm). Ate a late lunch/early dinner; 1/2 cheeseburger w/thousand island, needless to say, the gut wasn’t ready for something so heavy. Had a tough time with digestion and ended up back on the Maalox and Tums. An ultrasound was done around 5:30pm to further test the lump and awaiting results. Must not be emergent as didn’t hear back before night’s end. Belly is still very distended and swelling in legs/feet still exists; swelling in hands went down a bit and seem more normal now. Only given one dose of lasix as wasn’t up to getting up too often to empty bladder.
Another cloudy day……
But aren’t they beautiful!
