Day +23
Friday, November 1: Fevered again throughout the night. Seems like body anticipates the onset of the fever and begins with the chills. Had some rigors again but was eventually eligible for another dose of Tylenol to reduce the fever. They did a stool sample and UA to find a potential infections that could be causing the spikes. High temp was 102.7. Platelets: 6 Hemo: 8.2 WBC: 1.53 ANC: 1170. Needed platelets again, but once again, the high fever complicated the timing of the transfusion. Another CBC was done after platelets and they bumped to a 7, while hemoglobin dropped by .2. Very exhausting, sleepy day. Nurses required that somebody be in room for any OOB. Almost impossible to get out of bed, absolutely no strength from the high fevers. Once out of bed, began to use a walker w/assistance. Oh the things we all take for granted!
